Former presidential candidate, Dele Momodu has downplayed Peter Obi’s role in the 2027 presidential election, saying the race is a straight fight between President Bola Tinubu and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

He stated this in a Monday statement titled, “Time for National Reconciliation, Re-Orientation & Reconstruction” and shared on X.

“The 2027 Presidential election is expected to be a major fight between PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU and his biggest challenger, ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR. It promises to be the battle of the Tians,” he said.

The Ovation publisher stated that while a third force may show up, like it did in 2023, it was unlikely to have enough fire power and tenacity to upstage, and obliterate, the two elder statesmen.

Momodu’s comment is being construed by analysts as a tacit downplaying of Obi and other less prominent politicians.
