Abia State Governor Alex Otti has called for unity and reconciliation within the Labour Party, warning that internal divisions could affect the party’s chances in the 2027 general elections.

Otti made the appeal this Thursday at the party’s National Executive Council meeting in Abuja, where the Labour Party ratified its primary election results and confirmed 1,211 candidates, including Dr Chibuzo Okereke as its presidential candidate.

Represented by his deputy, Ikechukwu Emetu, Otti urged members to move beyond the primaries and work together to strengthen the party.

He called on successful candidates to reconcile with other aspirants and promote unity across party structures, stressing the need for collective action and coordinated campaigns.

The party’s National Chairman, Nenadi Usman, also appealed to aggrieved members to set aside their differences and work for the party’s growth.
