…A Celebration of Promise Kept and Transformation Delivered

Aba, May 24, 2025 — In a vibrant display of unity, gratitude, and celebration, the bustling commercial city of Aba came alive today as thousands of jubilant residents participated in the Enyimba City Solidarity and Fitness Walk, themed “Appreciating the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, for Promise Kept!”

The solidarity event, which took off from the iconic Azikiwe Road by Asa, witnessed an electrifying atmosphere as youths, market women, traders, community leaders, children, and supporters of good governance flooded the streets, dancing and singing praises in celebration of the ongoing infrastructural renaissance in the city under the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.

The massive procession snaked through Port Harcourt Road, which had just be completed, signifying the people’s excitement over the rebirth of a road many had once written off as abandoned.

At strategic points along the route, including No. 1 Port Harcourt Road and Ala-Oji Junction, convener of the walk and 2023 Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Abia South, Engr. Chinedu Onyezu, addressed the energized crowd. He highlighted the historic transformation taking place in Aba, citing the reconstruction of Ekeoha Market, a major economic hub in the city under his supervision, thanks to Governor Otti’s visionary leadership.

Onyezu emphasized that the market redevelopment would create significant employment opportunities upon completion, marking a new era of prosperity for Abia Youths, Aba traders and artisans.

He also praised the Governor’s commitment to delivering on promises made during the campaign, especially the long-overdue rehabilitation of Port Harcourt Road, which many residents described as a miracle come true.

In an emotional moment, Onyezu acknowledged the support he received during the 2023 general elections and reassured supporters that their unwavering faith in the Labour Party and Governor Otti has not been misplaced.

As the walk continued to the Aba South Local Government Headquarters, it was evident that the event had grown beyond a fitness rally, it became a symbolic march of appreciation, hope, and renewed trust in a government that listens and delivers.
