The Anambra State Government has expressed concern over the rising cost of rent and shortage of housing in the state, saying it plans to develop a mass housing policy in partnership with the private sector to increase housing supply.
Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Law Mefor, said this Tuesday that the decision was taken at the State Executive Council meeting held in Awka on Monday.

Mefor said the council resolved to work with private investors to provide more housing and make accommodation more affordable.
He added that the council also proposed a law to regulate the scrap business and curb vandalism of public property through the licensing of scrap dealers.
