Abia APC foremost governorship aspirant, politician and business mogul, Dr. Eric Opah, the CEO and Founder, Fortune Global Shipping and Logistics Limited is through with the All Progressives Congress ( APC) screening exercise currently holding at Kaduna Government Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja
Opah, who was wearing a smile as he came out of the screening room, told newsmen that the exercise was successful and conducted in a peaceful atmosphere and he hinted he’s well prepared to enter the next stage of the electioneering process.
Eric Opah holds a BSc degree in Business Administration and started his career in the logistics industry with Panalpina World Transport Group, and due to his passion for excellence, he soon gained considerable industry experience in the company before setting up his own business.
Over the years, Dr. Eric Opah has gained significant experience in the global logistics, shipping, and supply chain industry. He has also demonstrated a sublime level of entrepreneurial ingenuity uncommon among his peers. He Opah’s additional expertise in Airline handling operations contributed to the establishment of China Southern Airlines in Nigeria, where he became the Director of Cargo Operations. Above all, he has helped redefine Nigeria’s logistics and supply chain business by intensifying his advocacy for transparency, trustworthiness, and compliance, upon which his core business values have been built.
Following his years of distinguished leadership and remarkable brilliance in the freight forwarding and logistics industry, Dr. Eric Opah is an outstanding fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Logistics, and a Fellow, of the Nigerian Ports and Terminal Management Academy of Nigeria. Most recently, in May 2023, he was conferred with an honorary Doctorate Degree in Business Administration (DBA) from the American Heritage University of Southern California, USA, in recognition of his commitment to industry and intellectual excellence.
His record par excellence is not limited to his entrepreneurial and business expertise alone. Dr. Opah is a philanthropist, a grassroots community developer, and a strong youth development and empowerment advocate. His commitment to community development led to the establishment of the ERIC OPAH FOUNDATION (focused on empowering the younger generation through educational grants and diverse support) and the MBUBO TRANSFORMATION GROUP, through which community development projects are championed.
Early this year, he was honoured with the prestigious Sun Newspapers Annual Award 2025 as ” Entrepreneur of the year’
in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the logistics and shipping industry.
His selection for the Sun Award places him among distinguished achievers whose impact continues to shape industries and inspire enterprise.
Recall that Abia state APC has three governorship aspirants viz: Eric Opah, Henry Ikoh and Mascot Uzor-kalu. The three aspirants will slug it out during the party primary election that will be happening soon.
