The collation of the presidential primary election to confirm President Bola Tinubu as the official candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for next year’s general elections has resumed at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.

On ground to be part of the ceremonial event are former and incumbent state governors, including those of Niger, Bayelsa, Ondo, Ogun, Kwara, Kogi, Rivers, Plateau, Imo and Yobe, among many others.

Also present are members of the national leadership of the ruling party led by the National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda; state chairmen; former Senate Presidents, Ken Nnamani and Pius Anyim; and former governors such as Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina; Yahaya Bello of Kogi; Gbenga Oyetola of Osun; and Ali Modu Sheriff of Borno, among others.

Several members of the National Assembly, led by principal officers of both chambers, are also in attendance.

Speaking to newsmen on the sidelines of the event, APC National Chairman, Yilwatda, dismissed a trending video clip alleging voter miscounting during the party’s primary, explaining that there was no reflection of the APC logo or display of membership cards in the footage.

“In every venue we conducted our primary, we have our party logos, and we also made it compulsory for the participants in the direct primary to show their membership cards. If you go through the clips, there was no reflection of our logo or voters on the queues showing their membership cards,” he said.

In his opening speech, the chairman of the presidential primary collation, Anyim, described the assignment as “too big and challenging” to handle.
