BREAKING: Abia YPP Executive Committee Sacks State Chairman Uluocha, Appoints Amanda Kalu Acting Chairman

The Abia state chapter of the Young Progressives Party ( YPP) has sacked Nelcin Chiemezuo Uluocha as the state Chairman of the party.

This was contained in a release made available to newsmen in Umuahia, the Abia state capital after the meeting of the State Working Committee.

The party in a letter to the National Chairman of the party, Bishop Amakiri, cited the inability of the state Chairman to call a meeting of the state working committee for the past one year, anti- party activities and lack of commitment to the welfare of the party as part of the reasons why Uluocha has to give way, insisting that his continued presence is suffocating the party in Abia state because of his lack of commitment to the growth of the party.

” Let him leave the way he came”, added Success Enemanna Echefulachi, the YPP Acting state secretary.

Recall that Nelcin Chiemezuo Uluocha joined YPP around December, 2021 and was received into the Party by then State Chairman, Comrade Nwoko Uzodinma Emmanuel. However, few months after joining YPP, in what party members described as a surprised and shocking move, he displaced the State Chairman of the Party, Comrade Nwoko Uzodinma Emmanuel when the party was not in crisis and without congress, to emerged as the Interim Chairman of Abia YPP with the tacit support of the National body.

However, this is not the first time, Nelcin Chiemezuo Uluocha will be suspended or sacked from his position and suspended by the party.

In December, 2023 Nelcin Chiemezuo Uluocha had similar issues after he became the Personal Assistant to the Transition Chairman of Umuahia North Local Government Area Chief Victor Ikeji, a Labour Party Local Government Chairman. Uluocha was allegedly spotted addressing the appointees of Umuahia North Local Government Area at the Banquet Hall of the council where he was quoted to have said, “YPP Abia State is nothing but a fraud” yet he survived the two onslaughts. If he will still survive this latest move is yet to be seen.

RESOLUTIONS OF THE STATE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING OF YOUNG PROGRESSIVES PARTY ABIA STATE HELD ON 2ND JANUARY 2026 AT THE PARTY SECRETARIAT.

In view of the reckless behaviors of the state chairman of the Young Progressives Party Abia state Mr Nelcinn Chiemezuo Uluocha,the state executive council of the party sought for means in order to restore the dignity of the party.

The meeting was presided over by the State deputy chairman Barr Armanda Kalu who led other notable executives of the party.

ISSUES AND MAJOR DECISIONS OF THE PARTY .

The State executive committee stressed on the poor and ill treatment melted on her and her deplorable states occassioned by the disgruntled behaviors of Mr Nelcinn Uluocha pointed cases of anti-party activities and inability to convene state executive council meetings for more than a year. These actors have shut down party’s activities which cannot be tolerated anymore. Hon(Deacon) Douglas Nwakanma the state youth leader moved a motion for the suspension of the state chairman and was seconded by the Abia South zonal chairman Hon Enemanna Success Echedulachi and the house adopted it.

Furthermore,Hon Uwaoma Ndubuisi moved a motion that Barr Armanda Kalu become the acting state chairman of the party while Hon Enemanna Success Echedulachi become the state acting secretary as enshrined in the constitution of the party. The motion was seconded by Hon Ugochukwu Ikpeama, the Abia central zonal chairman and the house adopted it.
