The Nenadi Usman-led faction of the Labour Party (LP) has called for the arrest of Acting INEC Chairman May Agbamuche-Mbu, accusing her of criminal collusion with Julius Abure.

The demand was made in a statement titled: “INEC’s Acting Chair in Criminal Collusion with Julius Abure Over Fake Court Order; She Must Be Arrested,” signed by LP Interim National Spokesman Toni Akeni on Thursday in Abuja.
Akeni alleged that the acting INEC boss orchestrated “a brazen assault on Nigeria’s democracy” by inviting Abure to a meeting with the leadership of 18 registered political parties last Tuesday, despite a purportedly non-existent Supreme Court judgment in his favor.
“In her defense, Mrs. Agbamuche-Mbu claimed INEC was merely obeying a court order and would comply if a valid judgment in our favor were presented. However, our independent investigation revealed that no such court order exists,” the statement said.
The Labour Party also revealed that a formal request for a Certified True Copy of any court order recognizing Abure as LP Chairman was categorically denied by the FCT High Court, Gwagwalada. The party is now challenging Mrs. Agbamuche-Mbu to produce the court order she allegedly relied upon.
