A distinguished lawmaker and former senatorial candidate of APC in the 2023 general election has joined the Abia South Senatorial race.

According to her statement on Facebook, with her experience in lawmaking, she is poised to attract the much-needed democracy dividends for the Senatorial District.
The post reads
I had the pleasure to visit Chief Emeka Nwogu in the course of my consultation to stakeholders in Abia South senatorial district for my 2027 senatorial ambition under the platform of the All Progressives Congress ( APC).
I expressed reasons for my desire to contest.
The summary was that I was the candidate for senate in the 2023 elections.
That I choose to run again because I possess the capacity , the political experience and the well-withal to win the election and would provide quality representation for Abia South senatorial district.
Details:
1. I would leverage my political experience and sagacity to win elections for our dear party if given the opportunity ( I won elections in 1989, 2003, 2011and 2015) . I made great strides in 2019 governorship in SDP and 2023 senatorial elections in APC given the challenges of APC in 2023.
2. My grassroot experience in the zone would be leveraged upon to win , having served as Abia South Zonal Chairman of PDP, contested House of Reps. in the same zone in 2003, Council Chairman and Governorship elections at various times . I have also had the opportunity to serve two terms in the Abia State House Assembly, all in Abia South senatorial district. I know the zone.
3. My life as a married person has been lived in this zone enabling interaction with the people and understanding of their needs, and therefore delivery of effective representation if elected .
4. Abia South stands on three political tripod; Obingwa and Ugwunagbo, Ukwa East and Ukwa West and Aba North and Aba South. Obingwa/ Ugwunagbo block is serving 20years in the senate( Sen. Enyi Abaribe), Ukwa East and West block served 8 yrs ( Sen. Adolphus Wabara) . The Aba block is hungry to serve and the agitation for representatives by Aba people as the “goose that lays the golden egg” in Abia state is strong. They demand support for representation.
5. Inclusivity : Women need to be given great considerations as advocated in the HB 1349, The Reserved Seats Bill .
6. My commitment to our party,APC, and to our people of Abia South is unshakable. I keep faith with my belief .
7. The legislature is like an old wine; the older the better . I have the legislative experience and my quality representation for my constituency, Aba North , is yet to be toppled . I was nicknamed “Madam Matter of Matter of Urgent Importance “ in the House of Assembly because of my penchant to use every opportunity during the proceedings to bring to the fore challenges of my constituents and I succeeded.
8. Educational Qualification : My educational qualifications are not questionable. I attended good schools and read for my results ; A Grade One in School Certificate exams from a federal school,FGC Odogbolu , A HSC from a federal school, FGC Ikot Ekpene,a stint in Law at UNN, then a B.Sc , M.Sc and a PhD in Sociology; a PGDE in Education plus very many workshops and seminars within and outside the country. An author too .
9. Soundnesses of mind and maturity : I pride myself with maturity, soundness of mind as well as character and intergrity. I cannot fail my family nor my society .
10. I am a good mother, wife and a great manager of my home and organizations hence my confidence in representation of Abia South in the senate .
The former ministers and the current chairman of the South East Development Commission , Chief Emeka Nwogu, promised his total support and endorsed all arguments.
Present was a former member of House of Reps from Aba , Rt Hon Nze Esiaga amongst others .
