The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has challenged military strategists to develop practical solutions to tackle the growing menace of mass kidnappings across Nigeria.

Shaibu gave the charge this Thursday during the inauguration of the Army War College Nigeria Wargaming Centre in Abuja, where he urged the institution to deploy wargaming and strategic analysis to address the country’s evolving security challenges.
He said the rising wave of mass abductions, particularly in rural communities, had discouraged many parents from sending their children to school, stressing that innovative approaches beyond conventional military operations were needed to tackle the threat.
Shaibu also called for improved coordination among security agencies and urged the college to examine how proposed state policing structures could strengthen rapid response and enhance national security.
