The Federal High Court in Kaduna adjourned the trial of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, after two co-defendants failed to appear before the court, this Monday.
El-Rufai was present in court but proceedings could not continue because the other defendants standing trial alongside him were absent.
Justice Rilwanu Aikawa subsequently adjourned the matter until June 24, 2026, for continuation of hearing.
The case filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission centres on allegations of abuse of office, financial impropriety and fraud during El-Rufai’s administration between 2015 and 2023.
The former governor has denied all allegations, maintaining that contracts and expenditures undertaken during his tenure complied with existing laws and procurement procedures.
