A Magistrate Court sitting in Umuahia has granted bail to 37-year-old Agwu Ukpo, who is facing charges of attempted murder, indecent assault and assault over a viral incident in Aba.
Ukpo pleaded not guilty to all charges when he was arraigned. The court heard the matter in chambers before granting him bail.
According to the state counsel, one of the bail conditions requires the defendant to produce either the traditional ruler or the President-General of his community.
The case was adjourned to 19 August 2026 for further proceedings.
This case had earlier been reported by Enyimba FM, following Ukpo’s arrest by the Abia State Police Command following the circulation of the viral video.
