Afrobeats star Davido has responded to criticism from Hausa singer, Dauda Rarara, over his decision to highlight Nigeria’s insecurity challenges during the FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert.
Rarara criticised Davido on Tuesday, accusing him of portraying Nigeria negatively before a global audience by drawing attention to the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.
He also questioned the singer’s motives, alleging that insecurity was being used as a political tool.
Davido reacted this Wednesday via X, mocking Rarara with the word “Debidooo” in response to the criticism.
The exchange later escalated, with both entertainers trading insults on social media over the issue.
