It was a momentous and historic gathering yesterday at Osaa Ukwu Village in Obingwa LGA of Abia State, as Hon. Chidi Nnamdi formally declared his intention to contest for the Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency seat.
The well-attended event, which could best be described as a gathering of distinguished personalities, drew an impressive array of APC stakeholders, party faithful, community leaders, and supporters from across the three Local Government Areas that make up the Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency.
In his declaration speech, Hon. Chidi Nnamdi made a firm commitment to offering responsive, inclusive, and effective representation to his constituents if nominated by the APC to fly its flag in the constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections. He emphasized his determination to attract meaningful dividends of democracy to the constituency—benefits that, according to him, have eluded the people for far too long. He assured the crowd that his leadership would prioritize development, empowerment, and the overall welfare of the people.
The event witnessed strong endorsements from key party structures across the three LGAs. APC LGA Chairmen and their Secretaries, Zonal Chairmen, Zonal Women Leaders, and LGA Women Leaders all spoke glowingly in support of his candidacy. In their separate remarks, they unanimously expressed confidence in Hon. Chidi Nnamdi’s capacity, competence, and political strength to secure victory at the polls. They further affirmed their belief in his ability to deliver effective representation that would transform the constituency.
Speaking collectively, the APC LGA chairmen of the three LGAs reiterated their full backing, noting that Hon. Chidi Nnamdi possesses the experience, vision, and grassroots connection necessary to bring about the desired change.
The declaration ceremony also attracted several prominent dignitaries, including former Member of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Thomas Nkoro; former Obingwa Local Government Chairmen, Elder Godwin Nna and Hon. Hanson Amaechi; Hon. Chinwe Nwanganga; as well as many other notable personalities too numerous to mention.
In a remarkable show of generosity and commitment to grassroots empowerment, the event concluded on a high note with the distribution of over 20 motorcycles to beneficiaries, alongside other valuable items aimed at improving livelihoods.
