Delta State Police have arrested 24-year-old Jessica Anthony for allegedly plotting to rob her boyfriend of two years.
According to SP Bright Edafe, Jessica, who had recently rekindled her relationship with the boyfriend, conspired with friends to hire robbers to steal from him. She reportedly sought the crime proceeds to pay her sister’s medical bills and intended to sell the boyfriend’s gold jewelry, valued at N4.2 million and N8.9 million.
Unbeknownst to her, the “robbers” she contacted were part of a community security team. They played along, requested N65,000 for “tools,” and coordinated with the boyfriend. When she led them to his estate, police were alerted and the suspects were arrested.
During interrogation, Jessica admitted staging the robbery to extort N7 million from her boyfriend.
