Bishop Prof Emeka Nwankpa, the National Convener of the South East Mandate for Good Governance and a key stakeholder of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abia State, has strongly criticised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the derecognition of Senator David Mark as National Chairman of the party following an Appeal Court ruling.

Reacting to the development, Bishop Nwankpa described the move as troubling and capable of undermining internal party stability, urging the electoral body to act with fairness and respect for due process in handling party leadership matters.

He, however, called on members of the ADC across the country not to despair but to remain resolute and united in the face of the situation. According to him, moments like this test the strength and commitment of party faithful.

“As ADC members, we must remain steadfast. Challenges will come, but our collective resolve must not waver,” he stated, emphasising the need for unity and discipline within the party.

The cleric further urged stakeholders to stay focused on the broader goal of building a credible political alternative, insisting that temporary setbacks should not derail the party’s long-term vision.
