Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has taken legal action against popular clergyman Pastor Chris Okafor, filing a ₦1 billion lawsuit over what she claims was an unfulfilled promise of marriage.

Ogala filed the suit at a high court, accusing Pastor Okafor of emotional distress, reputational damage, and breach of trust arising from their alleged long-term relationship. She claims she was led to believe marriage was imminent, having made personal sacrifices and remained loyal throughout the relationship, only to be abandoned when the pastor allegedly chose to marry someone else.
The lawsuit reportedly seeks damages, a public apology, and legal recognition of the alleged wrongs committed against her. Doris Ogala has denied allegations that her actions amount to blackmail, emphasizing that she is pursuing justice for the emotional and psychological harm she suffered.

As of now, Pastor Chris Okafor has not issued an official response, and the court has yet to set a hearing date. The case is expected to draw significant public attention due to the high profiles of both parties and the sensitive nature of the claims.
