Hon. Promise Friday Iheasimuo, the All Progressives Congress, APC, House of Representatives candidate for Aba North and Aba South Federal Constituency in the 2023 general election, has commended the people of Aba for conducting themselves peacefully as the #EndBadGovernanceinNigeria Protest hits the different parts of the country.

The APC chieftain and former Leader of Aba South Legislature, during a pally with some journalists in his office in Aba which was held this Friday, said:

“I want to deeply appreciate Ndi Aba for their unwavering commitment to a peaceful Nigeria. The resilience and courage displayed, to shun the moves of some ill-motivated individuals who have decided to undertake violent protest to undermine the peace of the society. As we reflect on these trying times, it is important we remember that Rome was not built in a day and our president is working hard to ensure we all have a country we will be proud to call home.

I also wish to express our gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose recent approval of the South East Development Commission signifies a step in the right direction. This decision acknowledges the urgent need for regional development, infrastructure improvement, and economic empowerment. I appreciate this commitment to progress and look forward to collaborative efforts that will uplift our communities.

As we move forward, let us remember that peace is not passive; it is a deliberate choice. Even when faced with disappointment, let us continue to channel our energy into positive change. Let us engage in constructive dialogue, advocate for reforms, and hold our representatives accountable. Together, we can build a nation that reflects our shared aspirations.

To the youths of Aba Metropolis, we say: Your peaceful resolve is your strength. Keep the flame of hope burning, for it will light the way to a better Nigeria.”

Hon Promise Friday Iheasimuo seized the opportunity to call on the people of Aba to ensure that there is absolute peace in the city of Aba even beyond this period that protest is ongoing in different states of the federation, while urging the people to go about their businesses peacefully.

He equally thanked the President His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for having the interest of the southeast at heart by signing into law the South East Development Commission and many road projects ongoing in the region including the Abia South section of Enugu Port Harcourt expressway.

He equally thanked the Southeast caucus of the House of Representatives for initiating and ensuring the passage of the Southeast Development Commission Bill, especially Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker for leveraging his position to ensure the speedy passing and signing of the Bill into Law.
