The Federal Government has assured that long-standing arrears owed to public servants affected by the 2004–2007 public service reforms will be fully settled before the end of 2026.

The Director-General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms gave the assurance during a verification exercise in Gombe for affected former staff of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council.
He said payments have already been completed for almost all verified beneficiaries nationwide, with only a few outstanding cases now resolved or being finalised.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to paying all legitimate entitlements, noting that efforts are ongoing to trace remaining beneficiaries after nearly two decades.
