Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has dissolved the State Executive Council, effectively sacking all commissioners and special advisers.

In a statement issued this Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, the governor directed affected officials to hand over to the permanent secretaries or the most senior officers in their respective ministries with immediate effect.
The development comes 48 hours after the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, confirmed ongoing reconciliation efforts to resolve the lingering political crisis in the state.
Wike disclosed that President Bola Tinubu recently met with key political stakeholders from Rivers State, including Governor Fubara and his predecessor, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja in a bid to ease tensions.
