Justine Madugu, the Super Falcons head coach, has named a 25-player squad for the team’s double-header international friendlies against Cameroon.

Ngozi Okobi finally returns to the team after over three years’ absence alongside Monday Gift, who had endured a similar hiatus.

Comfort Erhabor, the 20-year-old British-Nigerian goalkeeper, gets her first-ever Falcons call-up, with Precious Christopher, a midfielder based in Tanzania, also joining up with the group for the first time.

Regular names like Rashidat Ajibade, Esther Okoronkwo, Osinachi Ohale, Michelle Alozie, Oluwatosin Demehin, Ashley Plumptre, Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe, Deborah Abiodun, Jennifer Echegini, Rinsola Babajide and Folashade Ijamilusi retain their spots.

The most high-profile absence is Asisat Oshoala, the record-holder for the CAF women’s player of the year award.

Nigeria will play Cameroon twice in Yaounde, the country’s capital, within a week. The first match against the Lionesses will be held on February 28, with the second on March 3. The matches will serve as preparation for the forthcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

The 2026 WAFCON will be held from March 17 to April 3, with all four semi-finalists qualifying directly to next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
