Thousands of Greenlanders took to the streets of Nuuk to reject U.S. President Donald Trump’s threats to buy the Danish territory, declaring their homeland “not for sale.”

Trump announced 10% tariffs on several European countries from February 1, rising to 25% by June, unless Denmark agrees to sell Greenland, citing its strategic and mineral importance.

Protesters, including families, emphasized defending their autonomy and culture, while European leaders condemned the move, warning it could strain transatlantic relations.
