Hon. Dame Blessing Nwagba, PhD, is a distinguished scholar, seasoned public servant, and accomplished politician whose career spans over three decades of impactful service. An award-winning Doctor of Sociology, she combines academic excellence with practical governance, driven by a strong commitment to social justice, inclusive growth, and sustainable development.

As an 8-year lawmaker representing Aba North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly from 2011-2019, Hon. Nwagba demonstrated her capacity for effective representation by championing policies that supported small businesses, strengthened local industries, and empowered her constituents in one of Nigeria’s foremost commercial hubs.
Her political journey reflects courage and consistency. She has served on the APC 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, and on the 2026 APC National Convention Planning Committee, contested as APC Senatorial Candidate for Abia South in 2023, and previously vied for the Abia State governorship in 2019. Beyond politics, she is passionate about economic development, quality education, youth empowerment, and national unity.
Importantly, for the sake of equity and fairness, Aba, her home base, deserves the opportunity to produce the next senator for Abia South, as other federal constituencies in the district have, at different times, produced occupants of the seat.
