The Oyo State Police Command has provided fresh details on the successful rescue of the younger sister of the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons, who were abducted in Ibadan earlier this month.

According to the police, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke and her children were rescued unharmed following a coordinated operation carried out by operatives of the Oyo State Police Command and the Force Intelligence Department’s Intelligence Response Team.
Police authorities confirmed the arrest of four suspects linked to the kidnapping. The suspects were identified as Wale Abolalewa, popularly known as “Oloro,” Dare Oyedele, also known as “Solution,” Semiu Ishola, and Adeyemi Ayobami.
Investigators say the suspects are currently assisting security agencies with information that could lead to the arrest of other members of the criminal gang.
The rescue operation took place at a hideout in the Ayegun area of Ibadan, where security operatives engaged the kidnappers in a gun battle.
During the exchange of fire, two suspected kidnappers were neutralized. One of the deceased suspects was identified as Kelechi, who police said travelled from Lagos and served as a lookout for the gang. The identity of the second suspect is yet to be officially confirmed.
Police investigations further revealed that the gang had allegedly conducted extensive surveillance on the victims and their family before carrying out the abduction. The suspects reportedly gathered information about their daily movements, vehicles, and the school attended by the children.
Authorities also disclosed that the kidnappers allegedly attempted to recruit an insider connected to the family as part of their plans.
Items recovered from the suspects include
three pump-action guns,
fourteen live cartridges,
the vehicle used in the abduction, face masks,
a battle axe,
a hammer,
suspected hard drugs,
and traditional charms.
The victims have since been reunited with their family, while security operatives continue efforts to apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate who remain at large.
The police have appealed to hospitals, clinics, and traditional bone setters to report anyone seeking treatment for suspected gunshot wounds, as some fleeing suspects may have sustained injuries during the operation.
As investigations continue, authorities say they remain committed to dismantling the entire kidnapping network and bringing all those involved to justice.
