Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has ordered the deployment of Deputy Inspectors-General of Police to their respective zones with effect from June 15.

Disu gave the directive this Tuesday during a meeting with Strategic Police Managers in Abuja, saying the move is aimed at strengthening supervision, operational coordination and accountability.
The IGP said the deployment is intended to bring leadership closer to the field and ensure faster response to security challenges across the country.
He also directed Commissioners of Police to establish coordinated patrols with neighbouring states to prevent criminals from committing offences in one state and fleeing to another.
