Senator Nkechi Nwaogu PhD CON, a distinguished parliamentarian, has commended the remarkable resilience and virtues exhibited by women in Abia Central, Abia State and Nigeria at large on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

The APC Chieftain noted in a statement that women have achieved substantial success in their diverse fields of expertise and have achieved excellence by breaking through barriers and shattering glass ceilings.

She made a fervent appeal for the formalization of the 35 percent affirmative action policy for women in both political and economic spheres.

The respected financial analyst noted that, ensuring women have equal opportunities in elective and appointive positions is the key to realizing the ‘Give to Gain’ theme of this year’s International Women’s Day.

Senator Nwaogu used the opportunity to call on Nigerians to maintain their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, which is on track to change our story and reasserted her commitment to the bill proposed by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, designed to reserve seats for women in the Parliament.

While commending women’s outstanding accomplishment, Nwaogu encouraged them to persist in their pursuit of gender equality.
