The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has confirmed that its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, filed an appeal on February 4, 2026, against a judgment of the Federal High Court delivered by Justice Omotosho.

The group said the appeal challenges the court’s ruling and raises concerns over Kanu’s conviction and his reported transfer to Sokoto.
IPOB also reiterated calls for due process, insisting that Kanu should be granted unhindered access to his legal team to pursue the appeal.
According to the group, the appeal is a crucial step toward safeguarding Kanu’s legal rights and promoting justice, peace, and stability in the country.
