Labour Party Stakeholders Rally Behind Dr. Chiemela Nwambu as Ambassador Emmanuel Josiah Declares Total Support Ahead of Federal Constituency Election

The political atmosphere in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State witnessed a renewed show of unity and commitment within the Labour Party as the former Labour Party Aspirant for Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency and founder of the Evansino Humanitarian Foundation, Ambassador Emmanuel Josiah, warmly received the party’s flag bearer for the forthcoming House of Representatives election, Dr. Chiemela Godwin Nwambu, at his country home in Nteghauzor, Obingwa LGA.

The gathering brought together party leaders, supporters, stakeholders, and members of the Labour Party from the ward, all united in solidarity ahead of the forthcoming electoral contest.

While addressing members of the Labour Party leadership in his ward, Ambassador Emmanuel Josiah expressed deep appreciation to his kinsmen and party faithfuls for their unwavering support throughout the period of his aspiration. He acknowledged the loyalty and encouragement he received during his political journey and urged members of the party to remain united behind the emergence of Dr. Chiemela Godwin Nwambu as the party’s candidate.

According to him, the emergence of a candidate should not divide party members but rather strengthen the collective resolve to ensure victory for the Labour Party. He stressed that although he did not secure the party ticket, his commitment to the Labour Party remains unshaken because his involvement in the party goes beyond personal ambition.

Ambassador Josiah maintained that his continued stay in the Labour Party is rooted in his admiration for the leadership style and governance of the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR. He noted that the governor’s achievements within three years in office have continued to inspire confidence among party members and citizens across the state.

He further assured Dr. Chiemela Godwin Nwambu of his total support, pledging to work tirelessly alongside party stakeholders to ensure a successful campaign and eventual victory at the polls.

Speaking during the meeting, the Labour Party candidate for Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency, Dr. Chiemela Godwin Nwambu, described himself as a teacher with over twelve years of experience who understands the realities and challenges facing the Nigerian people. He stated that his years in academia exposed him to the social, economic, and cultural conditions of the people, thereby equipping him with the understanding needed for effective representation.

Dr. Nwambu emphasized that the Federal House of Representatives remains a strategic office that demands competence, capacity, and integrity. He stated that the people deserve quality representation and assured supporters that the mistakes of the past would not be repeated under his watch.

He pledged to become a strong voice for the people of Obingwa, Osisioma, and Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency, promising to attract meaningful development and ensure that the people receive what rightfully belongs to them.

The Labour Party candidate also reflected on his academic journey, revealing that he distinguished himself academically and broke records by obtaining both his Master’s degree and PhD within a period of four years. He noted that despite not being born with privilege, his background helped him understand the struggles and peculiar realities of ordinary citizens.

According to him, his entrance into politics should not be viewed through the conventional lens of politics alone, but rather as a continuation of service through leadership and mentorship. He described himself primarily as a teacher committed to serving humanity and using knowledge to transform society.

Dr. Nwambu also appreciated Governor Alex Chioma Otti for believing in his capacity and looking beyond appearances to identify competence and potential for leadership.

Also speaking at the gathering, the Secretary to Obingwa Local Government Area, Hon. Henry Ndubuisi Ahukanna, PhD, described Dr. Nwambu as a long-time colleague and dedicated scholar whom he has known for many years within the same institution.

He noted that teachers are known for prudent management of resources and discipline, adding that such values are essential in public service and representation. Drawing from his earlier experiences in politics and academia, Hon. Ahukanna explained that teachers are guided by three major responsibilities: teaching, research, and community service.

He therefore urged party members, stakeholders, and supporters across the federal constituency to rally behind Dr. Nwambu and give him the needed support to succeed in the forthcoming election.

Also present at the gathering is the Labour Party candidate for Obingwa East State Constituency, Engr. Seth Kelechi Ebere, alongside other party faithful and stakeholders who reaffirmed their commitment to the unity and progress of the Labour Party in Obingwa LGA and the Zone at large.
