A serving NYSC member, Orkeghen Philip Aondofa, has appealed for help after armed Fulani herders attacked his village, New-Gboko, in Peva–Chanchanji Ward, Takum LGA, Taraba State, killing his father and four other relatives.

Philip, currently serving in Enugu State, said the attackers invaded the community on November 27, forcing survivors to flee and preventing the recovery of his father’s body for burial. He recounted that one of the assailants called him on his late father’s phone, confessing to the murder.

“I don’t know where to go; everything is gone. I have lost hope,” he told reporters, urging the federal government and authorities to intervene.

The Taraba State government has yet to comment. Residents say Takum and surrounding areas have faced repeated attacks by armed groups over the years.
