Former Governor Rotimi Amaechi has spoken about the recent attack he faced in Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

In a video shared by Symfoni TV, Amaechi said that while he and his team were travelling to Ubima, they encountered gunmen shooting. He also said that when they were returning from the same trip, they also encountered gunmen shooting
Amaechi said the gunmen were boldy carrying their weapons and they even confronted the police officers who were present at the scene
Amaechi said the incident clearly shows that insecurity is not limited to the North. He said there is insecurity in Rivers and other southern areas.
In Amaechi’s words: “You people think insecurity is only in the north. On our way to Ubima people were shooting, on our way back people were shooting. So insecurity is not just in the north, it is also here. The difference between that of the north and here is that this one is sponsored. You could see them carrying guns, they were not running away, they were confronting the police”
