The Oyo State Police Command has dismissed a viral social media claim that students and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area were flown to Kaduna State in a helicopter.
Police spokesperson, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, said this Tuesday that the video circulating online was false, misleading and lacked any factual basis.
He said security operatives were still actively working to rescue the abducted victims, with tactical teams continuing operations in the forest.
According to him, efforts have been intensified in collaboration with other security and intelligence agencies to secure the safe release of the students and teachers and bring those responsible to justice.
The command also warned against the spread of misinformation and urged residents to rely on official channels for updates while rescue operations continue.
