The Nigeria Police Force has assured that schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oyo State will be rescued safely.

The assurance was given this Monday by the South-West Coordinating Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, during a visit to the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
Fayoade said security agencies were working together to secure the release of the victims in the shortest possible time.
He also dismissed reports of ransom negotiations, stressing that the police do not engage in discussions with kidnappers over ransom payments.
The police chief added that efforts are ongoing to strengthen security operations through improved intelligence gathering, technology and collaboration with other stakeholders.
