A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress and the APC Youth Leader, Abia Central Senatorial Zone, Dr. Okey Nwachukwu, has called on all those aspiring for the 2027 elections to represent Abia Central Senatorial Zone or any Federal or State constituencies within the Abia Central Zone to ensure that they agree on a development plan for the zone with the youths of the area as well as to enter into a proper good governance contract with them in the zone, insisting that the youths were no longer ready to tolerate and elect leaders unprepared to prioritize the demands of elective offices and what it seeks to address.
” We are all in sink, that 2027 elections must begin to deliver more dividends of democracy for our people given the present economic realities and it must be issue driven and focused on what aspirants pledge to offer the zone in the coming elections to alleviate their standard”.
Dr Nwachukwu insisted that the youths of Abia Central zone and the party parades the best credentials and individuals to represent and attract the people of the zone more dividends of democracy in the coming elections in any capacity.
” Aspirants must realize is no longer business as usual according to the party stalwart who said the youths were poised to only supporting candidates who are youth friendly and recognizes that the youths of the zone deserved a better and prioritized attention”.
He encouraged politicians but stressed, they must engage, feel the pulse, and hear from those they intend to represent and avoid name calling but rather proffer alternatives they intended to offer the zone.
” Issue based campaigns and manifesto were more expected to convince the youths on what the people stand to gain than rhetorics”, he concluded.
