The governor also said that the Southeast lost heavily from the sit-at-home order declared by the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) over the imprisonment of Nnamdi Kanu, which forced businesses to close and some investments to move outside the region.

With the sit-at-home stopped, over 45,000 shops at Onitsha Main Market reopened on Monday, and business activities returned to normal. Traders expressed joy at the renewed commercial activity.

Soludo added that vigilante groups, anti-cult, and anti-touting teams are working effectively to maintain law and order, ensuring that criminality no longer dominates the state.
