Supporters of human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, have accused operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, of forcefully arresting and assaulting him at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The allegation followed a court ruling this Monday ordering Sowore’s remand at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending the hearing of his application for a stay of execution of an earlier order revoking his bail.
According to his supporters, DSS operatives seized Sowore within the court premises despite the court’s directive that he be remanded in a correctional facility.
Recall that Sowore is being prosecuted over alleged criminal defamation linked to social media posts about President Bola Tinubu, an allegation he has pleaded not guilty.
