Nigeria’s Super Falcons have begun preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations with a 2-1 victory over Senegal in a friendly match played in Ikenne, Ogun State.

In Friday’s encounter, Asisat Oshoala opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 32nd minute, while Toni Payne doubled Nigeria’s lead before halftime on her return to the national team.

Senegal pulled a goal back in the 86th minute, but the Super Falcons held on to secure the win in the first-ever meeting between both sides.

The two teams will face each other again on Monday as they continue preparations for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
