Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has ordered the arrest of individuals intimidating a teenage girl and her guardian following a razor attack in Donga Local Government Area.
The victim, identified as Miss Iwasen Terhemba, was allegedly attacked by a married woman, Mrs. Ramatu Abbas, after the girl reportedly rejected advances from Abbas’s husband. The girl sustained facial injuries in the attack.
In a statement issued through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development, the governor directed security agencies to ensure justice for the victim and to arrest anyone threatening her or attempting to obstruct the case. The ministry reaffirmed the state’s zero-tolerance for violence, harassment, and intimidation, especially against women and children.
Police confirmed that the suspect is in custody and that investigations are ongoing, with assurances that the case will be charged to court despite reported pressure on the victim’s family to withdraw the complaint.
