The Zamfara State Police Command has confirmed the tragic death of three Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) officers who paid the supreme price in the line of duty while protecting lives and property in the State.
The fallen officers are the Officer Commanding EOD, Superintendent of Police Abdulrazak Musa Hassan; Inspector Auwal Ahmad; and Inspector Murtala Musa.
The officers reportedly lost their lives while carrying out an operation to detonate an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) allegedly planted by bandits along the Bagega Road in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
In a statement issued by the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Yazid Abubakar, the Command described the deceased officers as brave and dedicated personnel whose unwavering commitment to duty and national service will never be forgotten.
The statement noted that the officers stood at the forefront of protecting communities, confronting danger with exceptional courage, professionalism, and patriotism.
While mourning the gallant officers, the Command said their sacrifice remains a testament to their devotion to duty and commitment to maintaining peace and security.
The Zamfara Police Command extended its deepest condolences to the families, loved ones, colleagues, and the entire Police family, stressing that the loss of such committed officers is immeasurable and will be deeply felt by all who served alongside them.
The Command further stated that while it mourns the fallen heroes, it also celebrates their legacy of service and sacrifice, adding that their courage will continue to inspire future generations of officers and that their sacrifice will not be in vain.
