The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the outcome of its House of Representatives primary election held on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

State Chairman of the party, Amah Abraham Nnanna, emerged as the candidate for the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.
Announcing the results in Umuahia, Chairman of the PDP Electoral Committee, Ikenna Onuoha, said the exercise was conducted in strict compliance with the Electoral Act and the provisions of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended).
According to Onuoha, primaries were held in four federal constituencies using consensus and affirmation modes as directed by the party.
“And the party charged us to adopt two modes of election. Number one is consensus. And where consensus is not reached, the party mandated us to adopt direct primary election,” Onuoha stated.
The other candidates who emerged from the primaries are:
– Akpulonu Solomon – Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency
– Humphrey Chukwudi Benson – Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency
– Ajuziogu Roland – Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency
