A political pressure group, under the aegis of Ndoki Conscience Group has written to the Governor of Abia state, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, urging him to throw his full support to the Ukwa extraction of Abia South Senatorial zone to produce the next Senator of Abia South Senatorial zone, citing years of marginalization and dominance by the Ngwa bloc of the zone.
Abia South senatorial zone is made up of six Local Government Areas, cutting across the Ngwa bloc ( Ugwnagbor, Aba North, Aba South and Obingwa), while the Ukwa bloc has the remaining two Local Government Areas ( Ukwa East and Ukwa West).
In a release made available to newsmen and endorsed by Mr. Francis N, Eberechi W, Ms Nadede Gift and Comrade Gift Adindu respectively, the group lamented on what they described as 20 years of marginalization.
They group particularly called on the Governor to help Ukwa East produce the Senator for Abia South Senatorial zone, while Ukwa West should be supported to produce the House of Representatives members, saying both Ngwa Extraction of Abia South senatorial zone and Ukwa East Local person have held power uninterrupted for the past 20 years.
During the return of nascent democracy in Nigeria in 1999, an Ukwa East man, from Ukwa extraction of Abia South senatorial zone, Chief Adolph Wabara was elected in 1999, and he served two terms, ending in 2007. Since 2007, when Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe was elected in to the Senate, he has been there for uninterrupted 20 years as we aproach the 2027 general election, and therefore demand for equity, justice and fair play that the Governor and the entire zome should throw weight behind Ukwa bloc.

SUPPORT UKWA PEOPLE TO PRODUCE ABIA SOUTH SENATOR IN 2027
We want to thank you for the giant development strides you have recorded in Abia State between the period you assumed office and now.
The reward for hardwork is more work. This is why we have joined other well meaning Abians to say that your re-election in 2027 is not negotiable.
Sir, the Abia South Senatorial seat is for the Ngwa and Ukwa blocs.
At the beginning of this political dispensation, the Ukwa bloc, supported by the Governor at the time, produced Chief Adolf Wabara, from Ukwa East Local Government Area of Ukwa bloc, as the senator in 1999. Chief Wabara served for two terms of eight years and left the stage in 2007.
Chief Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe from Obingwa of Ngwa bloc succeeded Senator Wabara in 2007 and since then has remained on the seat till date. A period of 20 years.
As 2027 is around the corner, we humbly implore you to intervene and support an Ukwa person to win the Abia South Senatorial seat.
We plead for your intervention and support because, if you leave it open, the Ngwa man will continue to be there because they have the numerical strength.
There are two Local Government Areas of Ukwa East and Ukwa West that make up the Ukwa bloc.
While we implore you to support an Ukwa East Local Government Area person to become the senator in 2027, we equally implore you to support an Ukwa West person to become the member, House of Representatives. One village in Ukwa East Local Government Area has held the position for 20 years.
He who goes to equity must go with clean hands. So as we implore you to support an Ukwa East Local Government Area person to become a senator, we equally implore you to support an Ukwa West Local Government Area person to become a member, House of Representatives.
Also, we implore you to support an Ukwa West person to be elected member of the House of Representatives.
There are many people that have showed interest to contest for the seat of the member of the House of Representatives from Ukwa West Local Government Area.
We implore you, Sir, to intervene and support Ukwa East Local Government Area for the seat of the Senate and Ukwa West Local Government Area for the seat of the House of Representatives in 2027 for the sake of fairness and equity.
With the hope that our humble but all important requests will be given an auspicious consideration and approval.
