Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has approved the release of ₦1.3 billion naira for the payment of bursaries to eligible students across the state.
The approval was announced this Tuesday, July 14, with the governor also increasing the bursary award from 20 thousand naira to 50 thousand naira per beneficiary.
The state government says the intervention is aimed at easing the financial burden on students, expanding access to higher education and strengthening human capital development across Akwa Ibom State.
It adds that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to investing in education and creating greater opportunities for young people through sustained support for their academic pursuits.
