Human rights lawyer Femi Falana, has urged the Nigerian government to reorganise the country and properly equip its armed forces and police to tackle insecurity.

Falana, who spoke this Thursday, warned that relying on foreign powers such as the United States will not guarantee law and order in Nigeria.

He advised the government to learn from Iran, stressing that countries must strengthen their own institutions to protect national sovereignty.

Falana also referenced comments by Donald Trump about launching airstrikes against terrorists in Nigeria, noting that terrorism has increased since then.

He therefore called on the government to return to the drawing board and invest more in the nation’s security forces.
