King Charles III hosted President Bola Tinubu at a state banquet in Windsor Castle, where he described the relationship between the United Kingdom and Nigeria as a “partnership of equals” during the Nigerian president’s official visit.

The event, this Wednesday, marked the first state visit by a Nigerian leader in nearly four decades, with the monarch highlighting the deep bond between both nations and Nigeria’s growing status as an economic powerhouse.
In his response, Tinubu said both countries share a vision of progress built on mutual respect and common values, noting that Nigerians at home and in the diaspora remain a strong bridge connecting the two nations.
Dignitaries at the banquet included Queen Camilla, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and notable figures of Nigerian heritage, as discussions between both countries continue to focus on strengthening trade, investment and diplomatic ties.
