Electricity and adequate street lighting are essential to the security, economic activities and social life of every community. Recognising this, Hon Munachim Alozie has intervened in the area of power and lighting across Obingwa-Ugwunagbo-Osisioma Federal Constituency.
One of the major interventions is the ongoing installation of a 500 KVA transformer at Isinkpa Ihie in Ward 9, Ugwunagbo Local Government Area. The project is expected to strengthen electricity supply and support the activities of households, businesses and other users within the benefiting community.
Beyond electricity supply, Hon Munachim Alozie has also embarked on street-lighting projects in different communities across the Federal Constituency. The first phase of streetlights has been undertaken at Umumba in Ward 9, Osisioma Ngwa LGA; Umukalika in Obingwa LGA; Isinkpa Ihie in Ward 9, Ugwunagbo LGA; and Osike Obegu in Ugwunagbo LGA.
Streetlights have also been installed at Ugwunagbo Police Station and Akanu Ngwa, further extending illumination to areas where improved visibility can contribute to safer movement and community activities.
At the markets, where economic activities continue beyond daylight hours, solar streetlights have been installed at Abala Market in Ward 11, Obingwa LGA, and Ekeakpara Market in Ward 7, Osisioma Ngwa LGA.
Perhaps most significant in its reach is the provision of solar streetlights in each of the 31 wards across Obingwa, Osisioma Ngwa and Ugwunagbo Local Government Areas. This gives the lighting intervention a constituency-wide dimension, taking illumination beyond selected communities to wards across the Federal Constituency.
The importance of these interventions goes beyond the physical infrastructure. A well-lit environment provides better visibility at night, supports movement, creates a more conducive atmosphere for commercial activities and contributes to the social life of communities. For traders, artisans and other small-business operators, improved lighting can also make evening activities easier and safer.
Thus, through interventions in both electricity supply and community lighting, Hon Munachim Alozie is addressing practical needs that directly affect the everyday lives of the people of Obingwa-Ugwunagbo-Osisioma Federal Constituency.
From transformers to streetlights, the objective is simple: bring more light to the communities and create conditions in which people can live, work and move with greater confidence.
The numerous projects so far attracted by Hon Munachim Alozie are part of a broader programme, with numerous additional projects already captured in the 2026 Appropriation Bill, demonstrating that the interventions are intended to extend beyond the projects currently visible on the ground.
With the experience he has acquired, as well as the relationships, friendships and connections he has built within and beyond the House of Representatives, Hon Munachim Alozie would be better positioned, if re-elected, to leverage these networks to attract even more interventions and development projects to Obingwa-Ugwunagbo-Osisioma Federal Constituency. The expectation is that the foundation already laid would provide a platform for expanding the reach of infrastructure and bringing more communities within the ambit of development.
