The Forum of Permanent Secretaries compulsorily retired from the Civil Service by the Abia State Government on October 31, 2023, have expressed deep agony for the way our matter has been handled by the present administration.

In a statement made available to newsmen, Agomoh Nkwachukwu the leader of the group says, the body while commending Governor Alex Otti for the giant strides of his administration in the infrastructural, economic decisions and executions plead that what is good for the goose is equally good for the gander.
This request and reminder are poignant decisions of the group after it’s June meeting noting that it is better handled before it is complicated by political and election campaigning that is imminent and doesn’t need any distractions.
This honorable forum that came into existence in October 2023 as a child of necessity, believed completely in the governor’s May Day address and hereby urge his Excellency in line with the constitutional provisions of his office to despatch marching orders to the Accountant Gen of the state and other relevant agencies to expedite action as to save lives bearing in mind the stringent economic realities facing the retirees vis a vis school fees, medications, skyrocketing energy bills of petrol, cooking gas and electricity.

Without further emphasis Your Excellency, our survival and lives depend greatly on pensions and gratuities, being civil servants all our lives. All are right now in your hands.
