ACG of Immigration Service, ready for his pull out in Umuahia
Echefulam Louis Anugwa, who the Abia Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, pulls out today in Umuahia, grew up wanting to be a teacher of Accounting, a discipline he loves.

He attended the Federal College of Education in Osiele, Abeokuta, graduating with NCE, Accounting/Office Administration. “I wanted to be a teacher. I love teaching Accounting,” he said.
A bigger love turned up in the uniform of the NIS. “I fell in love with the uniform,” he said on what attracted him to NIS. That is how he left teaching for the Nigeria Immigration Service where he served for 35 years.
He was recruited into the NIS on 20 March 1991 as Senior Inspector of Immigration, SII, and rose through the ranks to Assistant Comptroller-General of Immigration Service.
In those years he represented the Immigration Service in worthy manners, rounding off as the ACG for Planning, Research and Statistics.
Sensitive positions he held imcluded Budget, Revenue, Passport Control, Enugu, ACG Training and Staff Development, ACG/Zonal Coordinator Zone A, Lagos.
ACG Anugwa says that his objective in life is, “To be the best I can be at my job. And to keep abreast of the changing work environment. I love continuous improvement”. He prepared for life along those lines.
His academic and professional affiliations are intimidating and attest to his purposed preparations for the changes in life’s environments.
The cerebral Anugwa, 60, holds a BSc, Business Education, Accounting and Business, University of Calabar, MSc, Business Administration, Nasarawa State University, MBA, Accounting, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, MA, Peace and Strategic Studies, University of Ilorin, and he is a PhD candidate in Peace and Strategic Studies, University of Ilorin.
His PhD research interest is in Inter-Agency Rivalry and National Security in Nigeria: The Role of Nigeria Immigration Service.
In addition to academic attainments, he is a Fellow of National Institute for Security Studies, Association of National Accountants of Nigeria,
Institute of Corporate Administration,
Chartered institute of Forensic,
Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria.
ACG Anugwa, in retirement, will continue “To leave footprints on the sands of time (in my family and community) and leave any place better than I met it”. He says that is his life goal.
His retirement has a window for teaching, his earlier career choice, and consulting in Accounting and Administration.
The Mgboko-Obete, Abia State born Accountant and Administrator has served his family, community, and nation well. Testimonies abound.
His marriage to Stella Ngozi since 1994 is blessed with children and a grandchild.
