The attention of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Youth has been drawn to the reckless, inflammatory, and deeply irresponsible comments credited to a group parading themselves as “Arewa Youths,” wherein the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Peter Mbah, was insultingly described as a “puppet” and falsely accused of participating in plots aimed at destabilizing the All Progressives Congress (APC) and undermining the leadership of the Progressive Governors’ Forum.

We state categorically, unequivocally, and without reservation that these allegations are false, malicious, politically immature, and clearly orchestrated to manufacture division where none exists. This unfortunate narrative is part of a calculated attempt to stoke the false impression that the APC is heading toward internal implosion a dangerous and irresponsible propaganda line deliberately designed to embolden opposition elements and weaken public confidence in the unity and stability of the ruling party.
For the avoidance of doubt, both Governors hold each other in high esteem , in profound respect and high regard. Both leaders, alongside other progressive governors across the federation, remain united in their shared commitment to strengthening governance, promoting national cohesion, and consolidating the progressive ideals of the APC.
Governor Mbah remains firmly focused on delivering transformational leadership to the people of Enugu State through infrastructural renewal, economic expansion, youth empowerment, security, and strategic governance. He is equally committed to the broader national objective of ensuring the continued success and victory of the administration of His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, in line with the collective aspirations of progressive Nigerians for stability, economic recovery, and national development.
Therefore, it is deeply unfortunate that certain groups, in pursuit of relevance through sensationalism and divisive rhetoric, have chosen to weaponize falsehood and regional sentiment against leaders who are working diligently for national progress. The South East is not a political battleground for opportunistic actors seeking media attention through reckless utterances capable of undermining inter-regional harmony and political maturity.
We urge those responsible for these comments to desist forthwith from further attempts to inflame tensions and distract from the important work of governance. Political discourse in a democracy must be guided by decency, responsibility, and respect for constituted authority, not by insults, propaganda, and manufactured conspiracy theories.
We also demand an unreserved apologies to Governor Peter Mbah, the Government and people of Enugu State, and indeed the South East, for the disrespectful and provocative remarks directed at one of the region’s most focused and visionary leaders. Failure to do so, we shall be left with no option than to direct our legal team led by Ikenna Odoh Esq. to take all necessary legal action against Arewa Youths to ensure that justice prevails and to deter subsequent act.
Let it be clearly understood that Igbo youths remain politically conscious, discerning, and resolute. We will continue to resist every attempt to ridicule, intimidate, or destabilize leaders who are genuinely committed to the advancement of our people and the unity of Nigeria.
No amount of sponsored propaganda, political mischief, or divisive rhetoric will distract progressive-minded leaders from the task of nation-building, party unity, and ensuring a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
