President Bola Tinubu has directed security agencies to immediately rescue 25 female students abducted from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, in Danko-Wasagu, Kebbi State.

The attack occurred in the early hours of Monday, when gunmen killed the school’s Vice Principal, Hassan Makuku, and injured a security guard, Ali Shehu, who sustained a gunshot wound to his right hand. Kebbi police spokesperson, Nafi’u Kotarkoshi, confirmed a manhunt is underway.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stated that President Tinubu “strongly condemns the reprehensible attack” and has issued “clear directives” to locate and safely recover the abducted students, insisting the perpetrators must face justice.
The minister added that the administration is recalibrating military, policing, and intelligence capabilities to prevent and respond to such attacks. Nigeria is also deepening regional security cooperation with ECOWAS, the African Union, and the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) to strengthen borders and dismantle criminal networks.
“The Federal Government will not relent until this objective is achieved,” Idris said, urging the public to remain calm and confident as security forces work around the clock.
