COMMUNIQUE BY LEADERS OF ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS IN ABIA-SOUTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

We, the undersigned Leaders of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia-South Senatorial District, following a critical consideration of unhealthy speculations, and self-destructive yet avoidable developments trying to engulf the outcome of results of our Party’s Primary Elections for Abia-South Senatorial District, and Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West Federal Constituency, came together and issued the following Communique;

(1) That we are disciplined, loyal and dedicated Members of our Party, APC, in Abia-South Senatorial District.

(2) That we strongly believe in the leadership of APC, as symbolized by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

(3) That we participated in all the Party’s Primary Elections that were conducted preparatory to general election of 2027.

(4) That Hon Chris Nkwonta won in the Primary Election held on Saturday 16th May, 2026 in Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West Federal Constituency.

(5) That Hon Erondu Uchenna Erondu, Jnr, clearly won in the Party Primary Election held on Monday 18th May, 2026 for Abia-South Senatorial Election.

(6) That we are sure that the above results of the two Primary Elections are reflective of the collective desires and aspirations of the peoples of Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West Federal Constituency, and Abia-South Senatorial District, respectively.

(7) That it is available knowledge in the public domain that “the Court of Appeal in a judgment, APC v. LOKO & ORS (2022) LPELR-56703 (CA) (Pp 47-47 Paras E-F) held that the victory of a person who is returned as winner of a Primary election can not be overturned by any Appeal Committee of a Political Party. See Hon. SULEIMAN ALHASSAN GWAGWA VS HON. MURTALA USMAN KARSHI & 17 ORS (Supra).” Per ALI ABUBAKAR BABANDI GUMEL, JCA ( Pp 47-47 Parass E-F).

(8) That having won in the APC Primary Elections of 16th May, 2026, and 18th May, 2026, respectively, and duly returned elected, and reference to the extant Court of Appeal Judgments, as mentioned, we humbly pray that their victories be not tampered with.

(9) That it is on record that the Primary Elections that produced Hon Chris Nkwonta as the APC Candidate for Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West Federal Constituency on 16th of May, 2026, and Hon Erondu Uchenna Erondu, Jnr. as Candidate of APC for Abia-South Senatorial District on 18th of May, 2026 were effectively monitored by Officials of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and Security Agencies.

(10) That the Returning Officer delegated by the National Headquarters of APC to oversee the Primary Election for National Assembly Aspirants in Abia State, Barrister Erasmus Cishak, who described the exercises as ‘peaceful, transparent, and credible’, publicly declared Hon Chris Nkwonta as the winner of the Primary Election for Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West Federal Constituency, and Hon Erondu Uchenna Erondu, Jnr. winner of the Primary Election for Abia-South Senatorial District.

(11) That we consider it as the climax of inexplicably unprecedented disrespect and unpardonable insult to the highest Leadership of our Party in Nigeria if it is true that a ‘Private Secretary’ in the National Headquarters of APC could have the temerity to proudly believe he can treat with disdain an unambiguous lawful directive by the Leader of the Party that the Primary Election victories of Hon Chris Nkwonta, and Hon Erondu Uchenna Erondu, Jnr, should not be tampered with, having clearly won in the Primary Elections, and goes about boasting that he is not bound to obey directives by the Leader.

(12) That as altruistic and patriotic Members of APC in Abia-South Senatorial District, we are morally obliged to draw the attention of the national leadership of APC to avoidable consequences of unlawfully upturning the Primary election victories of either Hon Erondu Uchenna Erondu, Jnr, or Hon Chris Nkwonta, or both, and

(13) That, without mincing words, the Party would fail abysmally if these victories are tampered with. This Communique, dated today, Tuesday, 7th July, 2026, is signed by
