Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has shared his burial instructions, saying he wants to be laid to rest within a month of his death and that the state government should handle the arrangements.

Speaking in a video shown at his 65th birthday celebration on November 15, Fayose requested that his family mourn in private after the funeral. He also specified that he should be buried at a garden in his grandmother’s home and that no one should visit the site afterward.
“Death is inevitable. My body belongs to the Ekiti State Government,” Fayose said, urging loved ones to show care and respect while he is still alive.
Fayose, who served as governor twice between 2003–2006 and 2014–2018 under the PDP, received birthday congratulations from President Bola Tinubu, who commended him for his outspokenness and consistency in public service.
